Al Día
Receives Katie Award for Best Spanish-Language Newspaper in the
Region

PR WIRE)--November 10, 2005--Al Día was the recipient of
three prestigious Katie awards, including the one for best Spanish-language
newspaper in the region. It also won in general news and feature
story categories for the work of staff writer Isabel Morales for
her Desaparecidos-Cifra Trágica and Con Rostro Hispano
stories. Among the finalists also were Al Día staffers
Anabel Márquez, Francisco Rodríguez and Patricia
Estrada.

The Katies are awarded
every year by the Dallas Press Club. During this year’s
ceremony, November 5th, the judges commented, “Stories in
this newspaper are as good as any Spanish-language newspaper in
the U.S.”
In 2004, Al Día
received three Katie awards. Since its inception, Al Día
has been recognized industry organizations such as the National
Association of Hispanic Publications, the National Association
of Hispanic Journalists and the Texas Associated Press Managing
Editors.
