“IMPACTO
USA” IS NOW THE NATION’S #1 SPANISH-LANGUAGE PUBLICATION
Impacto USA is now
the largest ABC audited Spanish-language publication in the United
States, according to an internal analysis of the latest figures
from the Audit Bureau of Circulations for the six months ending
March 31, 2005. Published by the Los Angeles Newspaper Group (LANG),
Impacto USA average non-paid distribution to targeted residences
in select zip codes throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area
for the six-month period was 239,417. In addition, another 1,043
in single copy sales were reported bringing total circulation
to 240,460.
“Readership continues
to grow significantly,” said Gerald E. Grilly, President
and CEO of LANG. “We are pleased to see our efforts within
the Hispanic community have been embraced and so well received.”
Impacto USA was relaunched
in 2004 under its current banner. The colorful broadsheet weekly
is packaged in three main sections, with an editorial focus of
providing stories that have a deep impact within the Hispanic
community. In addition to the weekly print coverage, LANG also
introduced a new website, ImpactoUSA.com, last April to expand
media offerings within the community. Since its inception, ImpactoUSA.com
has seen page views and unique visitors increase dramatically.
“The Hispanic
community is an extremely vital market to LANG,” said Grilly.
“Our goal is to provide coverage in all media channels that
is both timely and relevant. And to also enhance the community
in which we are serving.”
Los Angeles is the
nation’s largest Hispanic market with nearly eight million
residents. The L.A. DMA’s Hispanic population has grown
58% in the last 14 years making it the fastest-growing consumer
segment, with more than $77 billion in total buying power and
generating over $47 billion in annual retail sales.
