Group Receives Award from the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce
Sarasota,
FL--June 7, 2006--TVNet Media Group, Inc., holding company of
leader Hispanic Publications 7DIAS Newspaper and La Guia Magazine,
was awarded last Thursday, June 1st with the 2006 Frank G. Berlin
Sr. Minority Business of the Year award, by the Greater Sarasota
Chamber of Commerce, in the event’s 15th run.
This is the first time
that a Hispanic Publishing Business is ever acknowledged with
this prestigious distinction. “This is not an award for
our publication, and is not for me either. It is an acknowledgement
to all of Sarasota’s Hispanic Community and their contribution
to the City’s development and economy,” said Luis
Eduardo Baron, publisher and founder of 7DIAS and La Guia Magazine.
Luis Eduardo Baron,
together with his family and coworkers, has built the beginnings
of a Spanish-Language media empire in less than seven years. TVNet
Media Group publishes the monthly magazine “La Guia del
Golfo” (Sarasota, Manatee, Lee and Collier), “La Guia
de Tampa” (Hillsborough and Pinellas), and “La Guia
de Orlando”, and the first weekly Spanish newspaper for
Sarasota-Manatee “7DIAS.” With franchises in Miami-Ft.Lauderdale,
Indianapolis, Toronto and Bogotá, Colombia, their circulation
has reached over 100,000 monthly.
The Frank G. Berlin,
Sr. Small Business Award program was established in 1991 to honor
