Other Information:
If you have ever read about the Harlem Renaissance, you already
have a good idea of the editorial mission of O.P.A.L. Magazine.
During the Harlem Renaissance, there was ostensibly a marriage
between music, art, and literature. We are attempting to bring
those three arts together again in a festinating literary magazine.
Besides short
stories and poetry, every issue will feature an in depth profile
of an artist and his/her work. We will also feature new artist
from either jazz, rhythm and blues, conscious hip-hop (lyrics
that will uplift instead of exploit), and contemporary Christian
music. We know that there are quite a few music magazines on the
market but O.P.A.L. is the only magazine that will bring the three
artistic forms together in one publication.
O.P.A.L. will
appeal to a sophisticated urban community.
